Prepare a Windows 10 or 11 PC for digital signage:
Minimum specs: 8GB ram, 64MB hard drive. No additional graphics hardware components required.
Download and extract SysInternals Autologon

NOTE: On the Windows Common Build, autologon is only allowed in preconfigured Digital Signs OUs. These will have the GPO “IU-UEMS-DigitalSigns” applied, which disables sleep, screen saver, Teams auto-start, and sets a daily reboot at 5AM. If any unit wants to create Common Build digital sign computers, they can request this sub OU be created for them by the IU Endpoint Management Services team. To initiate support, contact EMS.
Run Autologon.exe.
Fill in the username, domain, and password for an Active Directory domain group account you have created exclusively for your digital signs.
Task Bar
Right click on the Task Bar and select Properties. Select Task Bar Auto Hide.
Display Settings
Most common display dimensions: 1920 x 1080 pixels. Ensure that no scaling is enabled. (Scaling = 100%).
Notifications
Under Settings > Notifications & actions > disable 'get notifications from apps and other senders'.
Install and configure Content Player.
Automatically start Content player
- Press Win-r.
- In the Open: field, enter the following:
shell:startup - Press Enter.
Prepare the device for emergency notifications.
