Displaying a PDF on a digital sign is a great solution for multiple page documents or as an alternative to Microsoft Word documents. The PDF content type has an extra field for Page Duration. This allows the user to set how long each page of the PDF will display before moving on to the next content.
Create a PDF Content Type
Navigate to your repository in Content Manager Web. Click the Add New Content button or right-click and select Create Content in this Category '[folder name]' >> Adobe PDF....
The PDF Properties box opens. Give the Content type a descriptive Name.
Enter the Location of URL.
Ensure that the Caching Behavior is correct. For PDF, 'Download from network location at deployment' is the recommended selection.
Check the checkbox for Page Duration if you have a PDF with multiple pages and you want to specify how long each page displays.
How Page Duration works with content Duration:
- If the Duration is not checked, the PDF will only play the first page.
- If the Duration is checked, and Page Duration is not checked, all pages will play, along with other content that is in the region.
- If the Duration is checked, and a Page Duration is entered, all pages of the PDF will play, based on the time indicated for the Page Duration.
