UPDATE - Due to recent changes with National Weather Service data feeds, the default weather content type in Four Winds Content Manager is being retired. Sign managers should use the updated instructions below to display weather info on thier digital signs.
A pre-configured Live Data object named, "Campus-Weather-Forecast" has been added to your content library. (Important - Do not choose the default menu item named, "Weather".) Make a duplicate copy for safe keeping. Right-click on the object and choose, "Duplicate 'Campus-Weather-Forecast' in Category".
If you want to format the display of the weather info, you may edit it's layout.
If you are still using the retired version of the Weather content type, remove it from the template of your sign. Right-click the old Weather asset and choose remove.
Drag the Campus-Weather-Forecast object over the region of your template. Now is a good time to perform File > Save.
Use the preview function to check your work
Step 6Now that you have the new weather object assigned to your digital sign's template and displaying correctly, you can deploy the new content. Right-click on your sign and choose 'Deploy'.
In the previous version of the Weather content type, the zip code was a user editable field. The forecast "location" in the new weather object is now established for each main campus location in the network tree and requires no user intervention.
The size of the region (which you assign the new Campus-Weather-Forecast object to) will determine how much weather info will display. You may wish to edit the layout to accomodate the region's dimensions.
