It is not recommended to use Microsoft Excel or Microsoft Word for digital signs. In order to have a Microsoft Excel or Word document play on a sign, the software must be installed onto the content player machine. For Word documents, consider saving the file as a .pdf and using the PDF content type. Use the Excel content type only to display graphs or charts within the program. To work with data, use the Live Data content type.
Microsoft Word and Excel Content Types
Navigate to your folder in the Content Library and right click. Select Create Content in this Category '[folder name]' >> MS Excel... or MS Word....
The Properties window will open. Give the content a descriptive Name.
In the URL field, browse and find the file for the content.
Ensure that the Deployment Behavior is correct.
Click OK and save.
