Downloading and Installing FourWinds Software

Content Manager

Download the Content Manager software.

To obtain the Content Manager license, please fill out the software request form here. After the request has been processed, we'll provide you with a license key for the software. If you already have signage and you need an additional CM license, please contact dsign@iu.edu

Content Manager installation Instructions:

Note: If you are upgrading from a previous version of Content Manager, uninstall all existing versions of the software (Use the Windows Control Panel to uninstall the current version of Content Manager).

Step 1

Double click on the installer, Contentmanager.msi to begin. The installer will guide you through the steps required to install the software.

Step 2

In the next screen, Select Installation Folder dialogue, the default folder should be:

c:\Program Files (x86)\Four Winds Interactive\Content Manager\

The default value for Install Content Manager for yourself, or for anyone who uses this computer should be: Everyone.

Step 3

In the Confirm Installation dialogue screen, click Next to start the installation.

Note: You may need an IT support person to enter in their credentials to authenticate the installation beyond this point.

When you see the Installation Complete dialogue, click Close to exit.

Step 4

The Content Manager software initially runs in “demo” mode, so you will need to activate the full version with a serial number (see License key above). In the Start menu, click on Content Manager (under “Four Winds Interactive”).

Note: The first time you run Content Manager, it may take a few moments before the application launches. On the next screen, Set up your database and click Cancel. You will eventually connect CM to the database, but for now, we just want to enter the License key.

Step 5

Under the Help menu, click on About. In the next screen, click the Renew button. You should now see the License Key dialogue where you can copy and paste the License key (above) or enter it manually. When you click on OK, you will be brought back to the About Content Manager screen and it should display, “Licensed version.”

Success!

Installation and license is now complete. Now that you have the Content Manager software installed, you will need to connect the database.
